(01) — Philosophy

Most tools compete for your attention.

Margin quietly gives it back.

We built a workspace with nothing to prove and nothing to sell you while you work: paper-quiet surfaces, generous space and time to think.

It does less on purpose. What remains is the page, the sentence, and the slow pleasure of finishing something well.

What it feels like to work here.

Not a list of features - a set of small, deliberate quiets you notice only when they’re gone.

Focus mode

Everything dims but the sentence you're writing.

Quiet.

An interface designed to disappear.

Notifications, by default. Nothing interrupts the work.

“It feels like writing on good paper.”

(02) — The workspace

A surface that gets out of the way.

Your notes on the left, the open page on the right, and nothing else asking to be noticed.

On the quiet value of slow mornings

There is a particular kind of clarity that arrives before the day asks anything of you. The light is still low, the room is still, and the first sentence comes without effort.

I have started keeping these hours unscheduled - not for productivity, but for the simple pleasure of thinking one thought all the way through.

(05) — Questions

In case you wondered.

Is my writing private?

Entirely. Margin is local-first: your words live on your device and are encrypted before they ever sync. We can't read them, and we've designed it so we never need to.

Does it work offline?

Always. Writing should never depend on a signal. Everything works fully offline and reconciles quietly the next time you connect.

Can I bring my existing notes?

Yes. Import from Markdown, plain text, Apple Notes and most popular tools. Your structure is preserved, and nothing is locked in — export is just as easy.

Which platforms are supported?

Native apps for macOS, iOS and Windows, plus a fast web version. They share one calm design language, so moving between them feels like the same desk.

Can I cancel anytime?

Of course. One click, no conversation required, and you keep full export access to everything you've written.

The blank page is waiting
